Looking for a way to find an hour to get some work done during the summer holidays? Well have you thought about finding a DVD that will captivate your children and keep them occupied so you can make that important call or finish that piece of work for a client.
We where very lucky to receive a copy of Jack The Giant Slayer to review and we enjoyed it that much, I knew I needed to get this review out asap, especially as the release date is today (22nd July 2013).
The film is an adaptation of the Jack and the Bean Stalk, and funnily enough, my children had been learning about Jack in their last term at school! The story begins when Jack is a small boy, hearing the story of Eric the Great who defeated the Giants when the came down the beanstalk last time. At the same time a Princess is being told the same story.
I won’t give the whole story away because it really is a great film, but I wouldn’t advise very young children to watch this on their own as it is a 12 and the ending is a bit gory! My three are 12, 7 and 5 and the two younger one’s didn’t really like one of the scenes towards the end!
All in all this is a fun, action packed film for the family, just little ones may not like the final battle.
We received a copy of Jack the Giant Slayer to review as well as some magic beans. This was the only payment received and the opinions and comments in this post are entirely my own ad my children’s.
